Analyst, HEFCE, BristolTaking your analytical skills to a higher level Analyst £22,507 to £23,520 Based in Bristol The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) is responsible for distributing nearly £7 billion a year for teaching and research in universities and colleges in England. Our mission is to work in partnership to promote and fund high-quality, cost-effective teaching and research, meeting the diverse needs of students, the economy and society. The Analytical Services Group (ASG) of HEFCE provides data processing and analytical services to HEFCE and other stakeholders. The ASG numbers over 30 specialist staff with a strong background in mathematics, operational research, statistics, quantitative analysis and information technology. ASG use SAS for most of their data processing and analysis. Experience of this software is not required, but the applicants for these posts should be able and willing to learn this and other programming languages and software. This role is part of the Funding team within ASG, which focuses on processing and analysing the data required for the calculation of recurrent funding, student number allocations and targets. The successful applicant will assist in the calculation, development and monitoring of the Council's student number allocations and teaching funding. The outputs will include advice, documentation, notes and internal memos relating to teaching funding and student data which will be used by higher education institutions, further educations colleges and the Council.
