The European marketing and technical centre is based in a rural setting at Hazelwood, eight miles from Derby city centre. We currently have the following vacancy within our Applied Sciences department:

Statistician - £ competitive salary plus an excellent benefits package

At Hazelwood you will collaborate with chemists and engineers on problems in formulation and systems development, performance testing, and process / product development.  You will design and analyse experiments, analyse historical data, and teach short courses on statistical methods.  You will liaise with Universities within the UK and you will interact with the network of statisticians based at our corporate headquarters in Wickliffe Ohio.  There will be some international travel.

You will possess MSc or PhD qualification in statistics or a closely related discipline, and be proficient in advanced statistics packages (SAS, S-Plus, etc.).  Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment will be required.  Experience of working with databases would be advantageous.
